MOP

MOP fertilisers, also known as Muriate of Potash, are one of the most common and widely used potassium fertilisers in agriculture. They are primarily composed of potassium chloride (KCl), which is a naturally occurring salt mined from underground deposits.

Potassium is an essential nutrient for plant growth and is involved in various physiological processes, such as enzyme activation, water regulation, and photosynthesis. MOP fertilisers provide plants with readily available potassium, which is crucial for their overall health and development.

Farmers often use MOP fertilisers to correct potassium deficiencies in soils and to promote better crop yields and quality. However, it’s important to use them judiciously, as excessive application can lead to imbalances in soil pH and negatively impact plant health.

Types of MOP Fertilisers

  • Standard MOP
  • Granular MOP
  • Sulphate of Potash Magnesia (SOPM)
